Because of my busy schedule, it\u2019s not easy to accommodate these types of last-moment requests.\u00a0 In my professional life, I easily handle this with my cancelation and refund policies.\u00a0 But how do we handle similar things in our personal and social lives?\u00a0 Well, I recommend that we respond in similar tones.<\/p>\n<p>Many people define integrity as: <em>Saying what you mean, and<\/em> <em>doing what you say<\/em>.<br \/>\nMost of us will say we have integrity.\u00a0 If so, then why are we still:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>late for appointments<\/li>\n<li>avoiding certain phone calls and meetings<\/li>\n<li>not following-through on commitments to ourselves and others<\/li>\n<li>telling people what we think they want to hear<\/li>\n<li>asking just short of what we really want, because we don\u2019t think others will give us exactly what we want<\/li>\n<li>say something we don\u2019t really mean<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All the above are examples of \u2018a slip of integrity\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone has been disappointed by a seemingly sincere person.\u00a0 And everyone has disappointed someone in the very same way.\u00a0 Therefore, everyone has hiccups in their integrity.\u00a0 It\u2019s natural.\u00a0 It\u2019s human.\u00a0 To me, integrity is a muscle that we can make stronger with p<a href=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/integrity-booster-its-all-in-the-follow-through\/muscle\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9336\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-9336\" src=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/muscle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"132\" height=\"131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/muscle.jpg 200w, https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/muscle-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 132px) 100vw, 132px\" \/><\/a>ractice and time.<\/p>\n<p>A key integrity-muscle toning exercise is how we respond when we do fall off center.\u00a0 Do we not only apologize, but go out of our way to make amends?\u00a0Or do we make a string of excuses for the mistake? Do we blame others?
