{"id":7405,"date":"2012-03-13T10:06:28","date_gmt":"2012-03-13T17:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/svapm.org\/?p=7405"},"modified":"2011-09-11T16:42:37","modified_gmt":"2011-09-11T23:42:37","slug":"live-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/svapm.org\/?p=7405","title":{"rendered":"Live UP!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Taking your live to the next level:<\/strong> We&#8217;ve all heard the phrase &#8220;Live it up!&#8221; in regards to a particular event or party.\u00a0 But what I am suggesting here is to LIVE UP &#8212; take your life to your next higher self or level.\u00a0 Gracefully clear away anything or one that is slowing you down.<\/p>\n<p>I recently had a conversation with an acquaintance.<\/p>\n<p><em>She was complaining that her volunteers were not doing all the things she wanted them to do.\u00a0 She was pleading, demanding, consoling, sweet-talking them to get them to do these things. Then she complained, &#8220;But I built this structure with very simple parameters.\u00a0 If folks can&#8217;t keep their own schedules and see the value, that&#8217;s their problem, don&#8217;t you agree?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I certainly agree.\u00a0 But why are you making it your problem? Why continue to prompt and micro-manage folks, if (as you say) they don&#8217;t see the value and can&#8217;t keep their own schedules? From a project management and law of attraction perspective, that type of partnership will always be an upstream battle. So &#8211; just maybe they aren&#8217;t the type of people you want to create with.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Live UP:<\/strong> In this example, you may want to consider &#8220;high firing&#8221;\u00a0 (a term from the book <strong><em>The Corporate Mystic<\/em><\/strong> by Gay Hendericks and Kate Ludeman).\u00a0 These are good people.\u00a0 They believe in the cause.\u00a0 They are willing to donate their time and intellectual property to your organization.\u00a0 But, they are not totally aligned with what you really want.\u00a0 If they were, you would not be frustrated.\u00a0 There will be no resistance or gap between want they are willing to provide and what you need from them.\u00a0 So, sometimes you have to release the &#8216;good&#8217; to reach for the &#8216;even better&#8217;.\u00a0 Holding onto the &#8216;good&#8217; actually slows you down.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand &#8211; there are ways to allow everyone to contribute at the level they are comfortable without slowing or annoying anyone else, AND still get everything that you want out of the relationships easily (by learning some simple project management techniques).<br \/>\nThe Corporate Exit Strategies for Blooming Entrepreneurs series details these techniques.\u00a0 Contact <a href=\"mailto:LauraRose@RoseCoaching.info\">LauraRose@RoseCoaching.info<\/a> for more information on those series.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve all heard the phrase &#8220;Live it up!&#8221; in regards to a particular event or party.
