\"\"<\/a>This week we spoke about the excitement of starting a new job, defining your role and beginning to build trust and credibility.\u00a0 Well this is really just the beginning of your adventures.\u00a0 Doing this consistently will help you gain footing and become a solid member of your team \u2013 someone who can be counted on to add business value and get things done.\u00a0 Making it a part of your consistent behavior is really a key to having a positive experience in a new role.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 I find it typically takes me about 4-6 months to really feel comfortable in a new job. That is, feel like I am a solid member and contribute more meaningfully to the business.\u00a0 During that time, I spend a lot of time networking, reading, asking questions, and generally figuring things out as quickly as I can.\u00a0 It often feels like I am cramming for my final exam, but have only taken the course for a couple of weeks.\u00a0 There is a lot I don\u2019t know, but I need to produce results.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This has taken me way out of my comfort zone.\u00a0 It is truly exciting.\u00a0 I am meeting new people, learning a tremendous amount and having a lot of fun.\u00a0 It feels like I made the right decision.\u00a0 Perhaps, I am coming up from that deep dive and actually starting to swim!\u00a0\u00a0 I know I will hit rough patches.\u00a0 I also know I can come out stronger if I follow my own advice: take some risks, build relationships, continually refine my role, and build trust and credibility.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I can sense the next phase of this exciting journey is beginning\u2026.And I am ready to make this my best adventure yet!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
