Let\u2019s name a few fear factors:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Potential loss of job
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Actual loss of team members
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Churn in project portfolio\u2019s
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Confusion in corporate goals
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lack of time for skill development
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Increased workload<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong. I don\u2019t intend to add to the clamor of doom and gloom. In fact, I have gone on a media diet. I stay away from my hotel newspapers, airport TV\u2019s and deleted news headlines from appearing on my Google desktop. I\u2019m committed to staying optimistic in spite of this economy. <\/p>\n

So what are other ways to demonstrate your courage? Let\u2019s take a lesson from history.<\/p>\n

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.\u00a0 ~Winston Churchill.<\/p>\n

So what could we learn from this?<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 calm
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 consistent<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 conciliatory
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 concentrating e.g., focused
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 contemplative e.g., mindful of what is said<\/p>\n

Panache and persisting courage go hand-in-hand.<\/p>\n
