{"id":1786,"date":"2009-02-28T08:12:29","date_gmt":"2009-02-28T15:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/svapm.org\/?p=1786"},"modified":"2019-08-07T14:32:04","modified_gmt":"2019-08-07T21:32:04","slug":"project-management-and-the-myth-of-sisyphus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/svapm.org\/?p=1786","title":{"rendered":"Project Management and the Myth of Sisyphus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1788\" src=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/481_sisyphus-297x300.jpg\" alt=\"481_sisyphus\" width=\"297\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/481_sisyphus-297x300.jpg 297w, https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/481_sisyphus.jpg 525w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 297px) 100vw, 297px\" \/>Many people have heard about the fate of <a title=\"Sisyphus\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sisyphus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sisyphus<\/a>, but not as many people know why. \u00a0That is what we care about for it relates to a lot as project managers. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sisyphus was the cleverest of men. \u00a0He was forever getting people to do things. \u00a0Sometimes by asking, other times by cajoling and yet other times by outright trickery. \u00a0As a human, he constantly outwitted the gods. \u00a0He would have made an excellent project manager. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What really earned Sisyphus his fate was that he tricked his way out of death. \u00a0It was supposed to be only for a brief visit, but when he saw the beautiful oceans, the rolling valleys, the people and the richness life had to offer, he wouldn&#8217;t go back. \u00a0For his treachery he earned his fate.<\/p>\n<p>For our sake, his story does not end with his fate. \u00a0Kafka extended it, presenting our hero as one who reaches the heights of success only to start again and scale the summit. \u00a0How similar to the project manager?
