{"id":12275,"date":"2013-12-11T01:22:50","date_gmt":"2013-12-11T08:22:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/svapm.org\/?p=12275"},"modified":"2019-08-18T15:32:18","modified_gmt":"2019-08-18T22:32:18","slug":"how-to-steal-a-client-or-position-from-a-competitor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/svapm.org\/?p=12275","title":{"rendered":"How to steal a client or position from a competitor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I find the best way to gain customers or projects from competitors is to collaborate and affiliate with them.<\/p>\n<p>Most services are niche enough that, although they seem competing, they aren\u2019t really stepping on each other toes.\u00a0 While they may share the same service space,\u00a0 their products are slightly different and may even be complimentary.\u00a0\u00a0 While they may seem to share the same market, their target client description is slightly different.<\/p>\n<p>A successful scheme is to create a catalyst event in which your competitors are invited to speak, perform, or showcase their wares. Every business is responsibly for promoting and advertising this event to their clients.\u00a0 This offers a Win\/Win for everyone. The advantage is that now everyone is gaining exposure beyond their individual circle of influence.\u00a0 You also include your products and services at this event.\u00a0 Now you have other service providers bringing in their clients to see your products as well as their products.<\/p>\n<p>Creating a collaborative versus adversarial atmosphere often works better in the long run.
