benefits.\u00a0 With the increasing number of tools and models available to organizations, it can be challenging to choose the best strategy that will work for YOUR organization.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jim Sloane is a PMP and teaches others how to prepare for the Project Management Professsional certification.\u00a0 He was on the Project Management Insititute&#8217;s task force to develop the Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3).\u00a0 He now serves as a assessor for organizations who want to apply OPM3.\u00a0 He was the driving force behind the PMI Silicon Valley Chapter&#8217;s Maturity Forum 2007.\u00a0 Jim operates as <a title=\"PME web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jsloane-pmp.com\/pmp.html\">Project Management Explorations<\/a>.\u00a0 His mission is to raise the level of personal and organizational maturity in project management.<\/p>\n<p>I asked Jim this year, for the<a title=\"www.pmisv.org\/symposium08\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pmisv.org\/symposium08\"> PMI NorCal Symposium 2008<\/a>, to summarize the models (and possibly some of its tools) available to managers who want to move ahead (or &#8220;grow up!&#8221;) on their quest to improve project management maturity.\u00a0 He is tasked to provide a practical, useable primer on organization maturity, the models available, the relative value, and title=\"www.pmisv.org\/symposium08\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pmisv.org\/symposium08\">PMI NorCal Symposium 2008<\/a>, vendors will be present to demonstrate their applications, training programs, and services as well as answer questions.\u00a0 Seminal books will be available by the Stanford Book Store for purchase and signing by authors present at the Symposium.\u00a0 Attendees (and any others who are interested) are encouraged to complete the Maturity Survey, found at the <a title=\"PMI-SV Symposium web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pmisv.org\/symposium08\">www.pmisv.org\/symposium08<\/a> web site, in advance, and then see results at the Symposium from the maturity and leadership surveys and research studies.\u00a0 These survey results provide important benchmarking data that participants can take back to their organizations and convince others of the need for transformation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"87\" width=\"128\" alt=\"Maturity Forum 2007\"
