Our cross-functional volunteer community adapted a hybrid of Agile frameworks and created the SVPM Scrum Team program. Our community now is registered under a nonprofit organization called Agile and Scaled-Value Project Management (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asvpm.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.ASVPM.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-17140 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/2021-05-24-300x173.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/2021-05-24-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/svapm.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/2021-05-24.png 601w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.svprojectmanagment.com\">www.svprojectmanagment.com<\/a>, is a blogging platform that supports this community in two ways; it provides an opportunity for project managers\/professionals to gain hands-on experience using Agile frameworks, and provides an online space for Agile\/PM practitioners to share their knowledge and experience with our community.\u00a0 SVPM Scrum Team Program is an empirical and self-governing program guiding volunteers to build and support <a href=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\">www.SVProjectManagement.com<\/a> online presence using a hybrid of Agile frameworks.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>How we work:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The SVPM Scrum Team Program utilizes Agile frameworks to help volunteers build Product Backlogs, create self-governing Scrum Teams, and build various tasks to support our online community. The close collaboration of our cross-functional team enables us to employ an Agile mindset using a hybrid of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, FDD, and any adaptive practice that we learn through collaborative work.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Our Volunteers:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The SVPM Scrum Team program is a platform that provides opportunities for volunteer professionals to learn and experience scrum fundamentals and other Agile frameworks.\u00a0 Through the process of immersion, volunteers gain hands-on experience in a supportive community of professionals.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Agile and Scaled-Value Project Management ASVPM program offers volunteer opportunities with varying time requirements, fields of responsibilities, and leadership growth opportunities. Depending on your background, skills, personal and professional goals, and your availability, we will match you with a suitable volunteer role.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>Our volunteers are diverse and are in different career and life stages such those in career transition and workforce reentry, seeking career growth opportunities as well as recent college graduates.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Career Transition:\u00a0 <\/strong>Hank is changing industries from finance to tech. He grew up in Silicon Valley and is an early adopter of new technology and has passion for the industry.\u00a0 He learned through friends and family in tech that many companies use the Scrum framework so he was eager to learn more.\u00a0 He was introduced to the ASVPM organization through a colleague and decided to sign up.\u00a0 After two sprint cycles, he realizes how the ASVPM hands on experience improves and enhances his networking and job search as well as his understanding of Agile as a mindset.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Workforce Reentry:\u00a0 <\/strong>When the pandemic hit in March 2020, Sophia lost her event management consulting work at a global technology company.\u00a0 As a past employee at a financial services company, she observed the use of Agile frameworks used to select and implement new systems into the MarTech stack.\u00a0 Having familiarity with this methodology, she noticed Agile popping up in various marketing job descriptions.\u00a0 Part of her job search strategy is to seek out learning opportunities to enhance her skills and enrich her resume.\u00a0 As a volunteer on the SVPM Scrum (SAM) team, she has gained hands-on experience guiding marketing activities for the organization through on-going sprint cycles.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Career Growth:\u00a0 <\/strong>Maria is interested in a technical program manager (TPM) position that is open at her company, however she lacks the experience in Scrum that is a requirement for the role.\u00a0 Determined to apply for and land this role, she signed up as an ASVPM volunteer member.\u00a0 As a volunteer, her experience with various Agile frameworks supports her career goals and ambitions towards landing a TPM role.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>College Graduate:\u00a0 <\/strong>Kim is a recent college graduate having received her BS in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.\u00a0 Kim has taken coursework focused on Scrum fundamentals and other Agile frameworks, however lacks the hands-on experience required for the job she is interested in pursuing.\u00a0 During Kim\u2019s senior year, she was introduced to ASVPM through a professor who recommended she sign up to become a volunteer \u2013 so she did it!\u00a0 As a volunteer, having completed multiple sprint cycles, Kim has solid experience she can use to apply for her dream jobs in software and web\/mobile application development.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Volunteer Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Flexible Hours\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Free of Cost (No Expense)<\/li>\r\n<li>Build Hands-on Experience\/Skills<\/li>\r\n<li>Network with fellow Agile practitioners<\/li>\r\n<li>Gain Exposure\/ Build Credibility to the professional community<\/li>\r\n<li>Find out how you can volunteer in the scrum team by clicking <a href=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/svpm-volunteer-application\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Our Story:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/svapm.org\/our-story-at-asvmp-svprojectmanagement-com\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a> to find out more about the history of SVPM.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Silicon Valley Project Management &#8211;
